half-price books!~

there needs to be half-price books everywhere. unfortunately it's only in the states. and even then, i had never heard of the place till i got to texas. there are stores outside of texas but the ratio of texas to not-texas is pretty insane, lol.

it's my favorite store <3 i can go in there and just spend hours combing though shelf after shelf looking for treasures. it's like going to the library in a way. while my local library down here is pretty damn impressive compared to what i was used to in my hometown, they apparently prefer to stock hardcovers (it's understandable for libraries because of the constant use of the books), and hardcovers can suck it. i read epic fantasy dammit >.> that shit is like 400 pounds in hardcover ;P also not having to give it back is good ;D i collect things, you see^^;

i mean they do buy books too but i have a hard time selling my books hehe ;D

today's haul (click on pic to see bigger pic if you'd like^^)

amount of book-awesomness: ∞ (infinity, lol)
total cost: less than $20

some are books i have read (yay shakespeare and douglas adams too!), some are books i have never heard of (lol hyperthought. i'm totally willing to give it a go based solely on how awesome it sounds) and some are books i have heard so many good things about (foucault's pendulum apparently is going to blow my mind) - either way i'm going to enjoy the ride =)

and make crocheted potholders that look like fried eggs. ;D

I love half-price books. We don't have any near here, but I went quite often in Washington. Now I just frequent garage sales and thrift stores for books...a little too frequently. I'm gonna put Foucault's Pendulum on my to read list.

If I ever win the lottery in any serious way, I'm going to open a half-price books like everywhere I go. It's my happy place, lol^^

People in my area don't yard sale any books that I'm interested in so far in my experience. I've even gone to a few estate sales here to no avail. I don't know if it's just my luck or if people down here just read crappy books >.>

I've heard Foucault's Pendulum is good if you liked the Da Vinci Code or Angels and Demons and I liked both. I've also heard that it's pretty confusing because it deals with a lot of dates and names but I'm excited to read it nonetheless =D
